We are fast approaching the tenth anniversary of the untimely passing of the great novelist Max Sebald. He was killed in a car accident on December 14, 2001 near Norwich, England. This accident prematurely ended the life of one of the most powerful writers of the twentieth century. Happily he is still exerting a major influence on many other writers. There will be a commemoration of his life on December 14, 2011 in the United Kingdom entitled Max: A Celebration-Remembering W. G. Sebald: Readings, Music and Film.
